The Game - My Life ft Lil Wayne + Statement

July 24th, 2008 · Comments Off

“Fu*k Jesse jackson because it aint about race now”

The Game

The Game - My Life ft Lil Wayne

Shouts to Stealth

On a extended version of this track The Game rhymes

You see them 24’s spinning, I earned ‘em/and all the pictures of me and Em, I burned ‘em/ so there ain’t no proof that I ever walked through 8 Mile/and since there’s no Proof, I’ll never walk through 8 Mile”

Now The Game has released an statement through Aftermath about the lyrics

 The Game

When I originally wrote the song “My Life” I was trying to think back on events that affected my life and how they changed me. When I first got signed to Aftermath and G-Unit I was exposed to so many different people from Dre to Em to 50 to Proof. I always identified with Proof. We were always cool and he would reach out to me when ever I was going through something I remember when Proof died vividly and now every time I think about going to Detroit I get depressed. That is what I was trying to say in that verse and the more I looked at I realized that people would take it the wrong way…the way they are taking it now that it leaked. So I decided to change it so that this bullshit wouldn’t happen and now it’s happened anyway. For the record, this is not the version on my album, this is not the version that radio will get and this is not the version that I just shot the video to. Furthermore, I apologize to anyone who took this the wrong way as that was never my intention.

Fat Beats Release Freddie Foxx Demo

July 24th, 2008 · Comments Off

Fourteen years overdue, Freddie Foxxx, aka Bumpy Knuckles, is finally ready to step back into the spotlight with the official release of his 1994 demo tape, Crazy Like A Foxxx, as a two CD set on July 29th via Brooklyn-based record label Fat Beats. The album is a veritable time capsule from the early 1990’s, with guest spots from legends such as 2Pac, Chuck D, and Kool G Rap

Bumpy Knuckles

The original Crazy Like A Foxxx album was recorded in New York and intended for an official release by MCA. However, for reasons unknown, the album was shelved after promotional cassettes were serviced to radio and press. This newly remastered release includes both the 1993 demo version on Disc 2 and the 1994 completed version of the album on Disc 1.

Largely written for the emcee’s friends in prison, the album has ominous overtones and provides insight into Bumpy’s dark state of mind at that time period. The previously unheard demo album (Disc 2) features production exclusively from D.I.T.C.’s Showbiz, Lord Finesse, and Buckwild

He doesn’t have to do it … “Music is a challenge. Music’s like, ‘What have you done for me lately?’ Don’t matter if you make seven, eight great albums. U2 are arguably one of the greatest bands ever. 50 Cent Sues Taco Bell

July 24th, 2008 · Comments Off

50 Cent has taken Taco Bell to court after the fast food company used his name in an advertising campaign without his permission.

50 Cent

In a lawsuit 50 accuses the chain of “diluting the value of his good name” by using it in conjunction with its 79-89-99 Cent Why Pay More campaign, thereby fooling customers into thinking he had endorsed the franchise.

Taco Bell

In an open letter widely published in June (08), Taco Bell bosses offered to make a $10,000 (£5,000) donation to a charity of 50 Cent’s choice if he agreed to change his name for one day. They stipulated he must stop by one of the chain’s restaurants and rap his order at the drive-thru window - using a new moniker: 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent.

50’s court documents read

50 Cent

“As Taco Bell intended, many customers believed that 50 Cent had agreed to endorse Taco Bell’s products. Indeed, postings on numerous Internet ‘blogs’ castigated 50 Cent for ’selling out’ by his apparent endorsement of Taco Bell.”

Just The Factz - Interview With Mickey Factz

July 23rd, 2008 · Comments Off

Hailing from the birthplace of rap (The Bronx), Mickey Factz is making his mark in Hip Hop. Each week he has blessed us with his extemely successful music series ’ The Leak’.

Mickey Factz

As a youngster, Mickey was exposed to music, when his father would rap to him. But it was until the age of 8 that his love affair with Hip Hop began.

Mickey helped create GFCnewyork and has dropped 3 critically acclaimed mixtapes.  His efforts have not gone unrecognised because this year, Mickey is up for the ’Buzz Factor’ award at the Underground Music Award.

His talent as an MC in undeniable. His focus is to stay in the game building his music, persona and his movement.

Mickey Factz

In this exclusive interview with The Hip Hop Chronicle, Mickey tells us why he picked up the mic, his definition of Hip Hop and what we can expect from his highly anticipated album.

It wont be long until the world is screaming ‘Itz Mickey’.

Just Read The Factz

Congrats on being nominated for the Buzz Factor at the Underground Music Award, how is life treating you now?

Life is amazing! I couldn’t be better. I’m enjoying it, living it, cherishing it and reveling in it. Shout out to Donny Goines. See you at the awards in my Tux brotha!

Tell us about your journey into Hip Hop?

Its crazy… My pops used to rap to me when I was baby. Literally reciting lyrics to me as I was crying. It soothed me. Then I went and started playing on the record player making the voices sound like chipmunks and Dj Screw voices. I did it to my cousins Kane album. He yelled at me and forced me to listen. From that point forward, I was a Hip Hop baby.

Mickey

Whats your definition of Hip Hop?

My reflection. Its basically an expression thru music. Being able to speak your mind on any subject possible. Its a way of life and a culture. We breathe this thing called Hip Hop.

How did you get the name Mickey Factz?

I was tired of being a Renegade. So I took the name Mickey from Natural Born Killers. He loved Mallory to death. Mallory is Hip Hop to me. Factz is all I talk about.

What made you want to pick up the Mic and be an MC?

The way the melodies and rhymes sounded to me at a young age was enticing. It led me to wanna immulate them. The way the crowd reacted to rappers was just eye opening. That led me to wanna start a career out of it.

Mickey

I understand you were a paralegal, when you decided to be an MC, how did your family react?

They were against it. Who wouldn’t be? Leaving behind a steady job with income to be a broke starving artist… Who wants to be apart of that reality? But I had to follow my dream. Regardless if they believed or not.

What are your thoughts on Jesse Jackson dropping the N-word on Fox, when he was a vocal critic of Nas using the word for his album title?

Hypocrisy is a human trait. Its messed up he did it but all we can do is forvive him. I think its crazy that it happened but I don’t put anything past anybody anymore after seeing that. Nowadays anything is liable to happen.

Mickey

Tell us about GFC and what it stands for?

GFC does not stand for anything in terms of the letters. In terms of a meaning we stand for everything pertaining to developing and branding the arts into a respectable outlet for everyone to appreciate.

The Leak series has been a great success, You recently had the Leak #30 with Tanya Morgan & Robin Thicke, Have you started any work on a studio album and what can we expect from it?

The studio album is about 40% done and you can expect a cultural experience. Something that will transcend and transform the lives of people not accustomed to the way of life I live. I wanna bring light to the end of the tunnel for people.

Mickey Factz - Rockin N Rollin ft The Cool Kids

Tell us one thing you love about bloggers?

I love that they are slowly becoming the Dj’s of the 21st century. We used to search for clue tapes. Now we google search Mickey Factz songs.

One thing you love about Hip Hop?

Freedom of expression. The fact that we can be honest and make it hot and acceptable all over the world. That’s one of the many things I love about Hip Hop.

Factz

If you ever step away from Music, how would you want people to remember you by?

Remember me as The Digital Messiah. The guy who came and changed the format of how music is to be sold, packaged, distributed and marketed.

Top 3 Mc’s of all time?

Jay-Z, Big Daddy Kane and Mickey Factz

Mickey
Top 3 albums of all time?

Thriller - Michael Jackson, Blueprint - Jay-Z, Songs in the Key of Life - Stevie Wonder

Where can people get more information about Mickey Factz?

On my different sites:

Myspace.com/itzmickey
Imeem.com/itzmickey
Gfcny.blogspot.com
Ctothejl.com/steveo
Streetcosignor.com

Would you like to add anything?

I am The Digital Messiah and I’m going to change everything as we know it.
